Ms. Klein is an inspired teacher. She helped all of us look at our families, our children and ourselves. She created a safe, respectful environment, a place where parents could share their struggles and learn from each other and from her.
Cynthia has been a contributing writer to Parenting on the Peninsula for the last year and a half. Her column is “Middle School Mom” and she gives parents of middle school children some fabulous insights into their child’s development as well as solutions and strategies for improving behaviors and family communication. What I like about Cynthia is that her columns are informative as well as realistic. Parenting on the Peninsula is proud and grateful to have an expert like Cynthia Klein on our team.”
The class was really great! It was well thought out and presented. I had a great time learning strategies that will help me handle my kids’ feelings better. Cynthia’s class was precise and got to the point right on. Easy to apply to daily life. She provided ways to eliminate getting stuck in old thinking patterns.
It was wonderful to have Cynthia come present to a group of our parents for a Parent Education night at our school. She is a dynamic speaker who keeps the audience engaged. She presents her information in a very user friendly and tangible way. Cynthia has a wealth of knowledge as well as experience to back up what she teaches. Any parent can be helped by the strategies she has to share. Whether it be to increase positive communication or tackle really tough parent child relationship issues, she is someone I refer parents to for help. Thanks again Cynthia!
Cynthia’s parent education webinar series are an invaluable resource for parents who want to learn how to communicate better with their teens so that they develop strong ongoing relationships with their teens in the years ahead. You will find that Cynthia’s presentations are interesting, informative, and filled with useful tips and strategies that you can use right away. I learned a lot from the webinars. During my additional private coaching sessions with Cynthia by phone, I enjoyed speaking with her, exchanging ideas, and listening to her thoughtful comments and suggestions. Her calm, soothing, and reassuring voice made me feel comfortable discussing problems and solutions with her. Thank you!
Thank you for speaking to the Lamorinda Moms. We all thoroughly enjoyed your presentation. You are an engaging and dynamic speaker and everyone gained great ideas from your discussion. We look forward to staying in touch and would love to have you speak again.
As a couple’s therapist, I’m often in search of good parenting classes to which to refer my clients. I am pleased to have seen for myself the passion, enthusiasm, knowledge and skill that Cynthia puts into her group work! I have referred both family and clients, and the reviews have been consistently top notch! ~ Joann G. Riggio, MFT, http://www.jgriggiomft.com
I have read parenting books and attended classes for years to become a better mom. I attended Cynthia’s parenting class and learned the missing communication skill that answered the question of why my teen daughter is always getting mad at me. I love listening to Cynthia’s stories and her wisdom and have signed up for private coaching.
Thank you for a great presentation for the Foster City Family Enrichment Series. To date, your workshop brought in the most people so we definitely struck a nerve with the parents in our community. You were engaging and the information you presented was spot on, Your information was essential for parents today. I look forward to inviting you to speak again next year.
Cynthia helped me to see my patterns of communication with my adult daughter. I went from having no clue as to “what went wrong?” to understanding my daughter’s side of our relationship. I gained valuable insights into how to move forward in an authentic and positive manner. Cynthia is passionate about her work and about helping parents. I’m happy that I found her now, and I think she can really help heal families where the bonds have been strained.
Cynthia helped me to look at my daughter, who is struggling in school, through a different lens. I am trying to see the strengths in my daughter rather than focus on her weaknesses. Cynthia recommended and let me borrow additional reading materials that helped me look beyond “traditional” parenting ways. Cynthia has a wealth of information to share!
The communication advice you gave at the WEB, (Women Entrepreneurs of the Bay Area) talk on October18, 2013 was very helpful and I immediately applied it to my daily interactions with my daughter. The quality of our conversations has improved and she openly shares things with me without being requested to do so. Actually, the funny thing is that she seems to have picked up the style herself… Is that possible?? She says things like “Mom, I understand how frustrated you may be when I don’t do my chores… etc.” I am amazed! She acknowledges my feelings the same way you suggested we should do. So I wanted to really thank you for sharing your experience and your advice. You are changing how people communicate and are making them better listeners. That is awesome!
We hit the jackpot when we invited Cynthia Klein to speak to 40 therapists at our monthly Silicon Valley California Marriage and Family Therapists meeting. Her presentation was interactive, engaging, and gave everyone amazing information to use in their own lives as well as to share with their clients. Cynthia has the desire to find the best in everyone and everything. The audience was so impressed with her expertise that almost everyone signed up for her newsletter to continue learning from Cynthia’s parenting wisdom. Thank you Cynthia.
Cynthia has been a very supportive and effective parenting resource for me as a single father of three young children. Over 10 months, I was instructed weekly by Cynthia to learn how to discard ineffective parenting habits and learn mutually respectful effective habits. I started my transformation by learning new parenting perspectives in private sessions in her office or over the phone. After seven months, Cynthia came to my home and directed my interactions with my children on the spot because in the moment, I had a tendency to fall back into old bad habits. My learning curve jumped drastically with Cynthia in the home for 10 weeks in a row. I needed less direction with time because I was learning how to implement effective discipline by myself.
Thanks again for a great class. I’m glad that Joe and I were both able to attend — We, as parents, go in seeking specific answers to specific issues or problems — like a call- in radio show. … you are teaching a change in philosophy. With a knowledge of this philosophy, we will all come to different styles of implementing to serve our purposes.
Thank you so much for coming to our clubhouse and facilitating the discipline workshop. I have been talking to the parents that took part in the workshop and they all said that they enjoyed it and learn a lot. One of the parents told me today that this morning she was getting stressed out when she was getting her kids ready for school but she was able to maintain her cool using some of the techniques that she learn in your workshop. Thank you for giving our parents the tools that they need to better discipline their children. I think that this information will help us as well when we have to discipline their children. Both the parents and ourselves can use strategies that we learn from the workshop and work together as a community. Thanks again and we look forward to having you again sometime in the near future.
Hi Cynthia, I attended your class last week on motivating kids without punishment or rewards. That night when I got home my son was still awake so I told him that we would get up 10 minutes earlier the next day and spend some time together doing whatever it was that he wanted. The next morning I got up a little bit earlier and we spent six minutes together just doing what he wanted which was basically reading a Star Wars book. After that it was an amazing difference that I noticed in him. He told me that he was really happy that I went to see a Dr. the night before and he thought that it really made a difference in my attitude towards him. At your seminar the biggest thing that I learned was to make time for my kids. I really appreciate your help. “While my 24-year old son and I had a pretty good relationship, I felt that there were things I had done when he was growing up that kept us from having a better relationship. I sometimes worried my mistakes were irreversible, and that it was too late to have the kind of close, open, and loving relationship that I really wanted. I didn’t know what to say or do, how to make changes, or even if change was possible. Cynthia showed me that it’s never too late. In just a few targeted sessions, she gave me the tools I needed to open a different conversation, and it has worked better than I dreamed it could. Within two months, he has asked me for help with a very challenging problem that he had previously been closed to discussing. I am over the moon! Already there is closer connection and trust. This is huge progress, and I credit Cynthia’s coaching with the “thawing” that I have been able to create.”
Cynthia has spoken at our Boys and Girls Clubs on the San Francisco Peninsula over 14 times. She has an innate ability to relate to people of different cultures. She is comfortable with simultaneous Spanish translation. Parents trust Cynthia and I am amazed how they are open to thinking of parenting in new ways and accept her new parenting strategies. Her presentation style is engaging and parents have reported using her ideas successfully following her presentations. We will definitely continue to have Cynthia speak at our Boys and Girls clubs.
I am a therapist and I referred one of my clients to Cynthia for parenting issues so we could focus on the other issues in her life, which were many. My client loves Cynthia and is getting so much out of private parenting education with her that the scramming at her kids has stopped, she is enjoying them more and getting “tons’ of worksheets and info from Cynthia. I think the two of us working as a team for this client has made a huge difference. I’m helping her find her identity in a loveless marriage and Cynthia is helping with the parenting part which is working beautifully. I highly recommend this type of teamwork and Cynthia herself.
Cynthia, is my parenting coach. During our private sessions, I am learning new positive parenting concepts and skills. Her sessions help me to improve parent child cooperation, communication and to build lifelong connection. I have learned how to stop blocking communication so instead I am listening more openly with my son. This is building stronger bonds of connection between us. I am also learning who is responsible for solving a particular problem and I am becoming more accepting of my son. Any parenting issues or questions I ask Cynthia, she presents me with positive solutions and parenting skills. I am continuously improving and I will continue working with Cynthia on a regular basis. She is very committed to being a parenting educator.
Thanks Cynthia. I appreciate your support deeply. You have already had a significant impact on our family’s happiness. Mother of three children
The Self-Sufficiency Program at HIP Housing provides a housing subsidy, case management, and monthly workshops to low-income parents who are in school to increase their earning power and become self-sufficient. Cynthia presented a workshop on parenting to our clients, and did a nice job of making it accessible, interactive, and useful to a diverse group. Cynthia told great stories about her own journey as a parent and connected the material to the lives of the clients in the room. Thank you Cynthia for an inspiring workshop!
Thank you so much for presenting at our school. You made a strong connection with our parents with your informative and hands-on practical approach. I find myself referring to you and your strategies with both parents and teachers. Thank you, again for connecting with me and providing your vital resource and support to our parent community. http://www.tlcounselor.org/
