I created a video for a client audience that explains the workings of the rigid self-perpetuating cycle that couples get into driven by attachment needs and fears.
This is one of the central ideas of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, but is not exclusive to EFT It is very accessible, light-hearted and animated (literally). I share it here because many have found it de-shaming and clear explanation of what happens. It can also give therapists an idea of how EFT explains couple distress and the path to improving relationships.
